Copper-nickel

Copper-nickel is silver colored alloy consisting of these two metals.

In ancient times, copper-nickel was used in coin production; today the alloy is used in the one and two euro coins and in Swiss coins intended for circulation.

We offer the standard alloy CuNi44 with the following properties:

  • Low temperature coefficient of electrical resistance
  • High resistance to oxidation and corrosion
  • High strength with regard to breakage and bending cycles

The alloy is non-magnetic and the maximum temperature for use in air is 600°C. The material is easy to work with and can be soldered or brazed with no problems. All known welding processes can be used.

Applications for copper-nickel foils include:

  • Electrical resistors
  • Heating elements
