Surfaces

The surfaces of our foils and strips form the interfaces between our customers and their applications. 

Whether in combinations of different materials in a roll-cladding process, in galvanic coating or in physical or chemical processing: targeted surface design is becoming more and more important with regard to technical products in order to meet high quality requirements and to implement new or additional features.

Schlenk Metallfolien has been meeting these challenges head on for many years now. Thanks to targeted investments in plant technology and expertise, we can realize your ideas with regard to surface design.

Finish and surface versions

The physical and electrical properties alone of untreated, non-ferrous metals do not meet the requirements for some applications. Thanks to our technology, we can adapt most material surfaces so that even the most demanding projects can be realized.

Besides standard foil surfaces we offer the following surface adaptations and versions:

  • High gloss surfaces (RA <0.1 µm)
  • Matte surfaces
  • Degreased surfaces (For more information, see Degreasing)
  • Passivated surfaces, with either organic or inorganic surface protection

Coating

Some of the specialized applications for which our foils are used require additional galvanic treatment. Schlenk Metallfolien has decades of experience with galvanizing technology: we process our foils and strips in a reel-to-reel procedure and use a variety of treatment equipment.

Our standard program includes:

  • Copper treatment
  • Cu/Zn treatment
  • Nickel treatment
  • Smooth coating for nickel

As an alternative to galvanic coating, we also manufacture roll-clad composites .
