After 18 months of construction, with about 100 guests we were able to celebrate the opening of the completely renovated and expanded office building in Bernlohe by the end of the year. The overall investment of 6 million euros included 4.5 million for the new roll stand and 1.5 million for the construction costs alone.
The new roll stand replaces two smaller rolling mills, works more efficiently, and is easier to operate. Moreover, the old office building was renovated and a new expansion added, which resulted in modernized office space with 40 ergonomic work stations and a cafeteria that significantly improves communication and cooperation. “Now that all of the rolling mill employees are together at the Bernlohe location, processes can be designed such that they are much faster and more efficient”, says Joachim von Schlenk.
