Nickel
Nickel is a shiny, silver-colored metal among the series of transition metals. The name nickel goes back to the Swedish mineralogist Axel Frederic von Cronstedt: in 1751 he shortened the Swedish term "kopparnickel", a miner`s curse word for niccolite, which looks like copper ore.
Nickel has good forming and welding characteristics and is very corrosion resistant. In addition, it is ferromagnetic and can be very highly polished.
Under normal temperatures it is resistant to seawater, non-oxidizing acids, alkalis and many organic materials.
Our standard types of nickel include:
- Pure nickel (Ni 99.6; Material no.: 2.4060; UNS: N 02233)
Other types of nickel can be requested; we would be happy to assist you.
